Title: kerberos authentication for Oracle 10g SE
Post by Pete Finnigan on Feb 1st, 2007, 6:15am
Hi,

I want to know whether Oracle 10g Standard Edition supports any extensibilty mechanism to do
kerberos authentication using third party plugin or adapter.

Advanced Security Option of oracle comes only with Oracle Enterprise edition not with oracle

10g SE.So I want to implement/want support for some kerberos authentication adapter/plugins for oracle 10g SE.

If this is possible, can you suggest some links on
1) kerberos plugins available for oracle 10g
2) Oracle 10g plugin API
3) SDK/API for authentication plugins.

I searched a lot but I am not getting any helpful resources on net. Or else I need some good

docs on Oracle Authentication and Security based protocols.

Thanks & regards,
Sayantani

I'm not sure for 100% but i think that the ASO is only withion th EE option.

Hi,

It's necessary to have the EE version but the ASO is an additional cost option above EE. Also if you want Kerberos you also need to license the Oracle Identity Management Option. BUT as always with Oracle features, versions, cost options etc you must speak to you Oracle rep to get the full picture.

cheers

Pete
