Hi everyone,

welcome to my web development board. I have linked this board into my main Oracle Security site as I did not want to install multiple copies of forum software. This is not ideal but it makes support and maintainence easier for me.

My [url http://web.petefinnigan.com]web development site is [/url] pretty basic at the moment as I have not had much time to devote to it. I do have a lot of plans for my sites and ideas to try out. The web ideas will get tried first on this newish site. [url http://web.petefinnigan.com/weblog/entries/index.html]There is a blog [/url] already with a few entries in it. Most of my plans center around making my site easier to maintain which means creating my own simple CMS to manage adding content to the static pages as well as blog entries. I also have plans for some collaboration programs on the site in the area of database security. This is also another area that requires web development. I also have some idea to promote the site better with more RSS feeds for some of the pages and also I have an XML-RPC script mostly written to ping blog directories. I also have plans to moderise the style and layput of my sites. Out will go the tables and in will come CSS and web standards. It all takes time..

My web development site will not be like a true web designers site (the arty style) bu will b more like a web development site for people whose major interests lie elsewhere BUT who are interested in making a good job with their sites. My site is becoming quite large and complex. I suppose I am interested in the stuff that goes on in the background but I am still interested in the layout aspects but I will probably never be a top artistic designer...
