Hi Mike,

Sorry I don't have personal experience of using Active Directory with external authentication of roles. I found a page in the documentation that talks about using AD with Oracle and external authentication of roles from Windows clients - this is "Authenticating Database Users with Windows" available at http://www.stanford.edu/dept/itss/docs/oracle/9i/win.920/a95492/authen.htm.

I also found a paper on Oracles site called Using "Oracle with Active Directory TWP" available at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/windows/wp/Oracle_with_Active_Directory_TWP.pdf that may be of use.

Maybe someone else has had actual experience who may be able to help.

cheers

Pete
