Title: rp_link
Post by Pete Finnigan on Aug 6th, 2006, 7:00pm
Hi all,

I'm struggling to get a description for the database user rp_link.  I've tried Metalink and God knows how many forums with no luck.  I need to know who or what uses it, and if there are any security implications.

Thanks

S

Hi,

I do not know of this user. It is not in my list of default users. I guess its site specific for whatever application you have running? - I cannot find anything about this user, therefore I cannot see how its an Oracle specific one. What application are you running?

cheers

Pete

Hi Pete,

We are running Oracle Financials.  The only thing I've seen which mentions RP_LINK is in conjunction with DB_LINK.

Hi S,

I thought that I had all of the Oracle Financials schemas in my default password lists. I have just re-checked and its not there, I have also done a check on the net and cannot find it. Do you know what the link is used for? - which schema / module?

Are you certain that Oracle created it as part of the financials installation? - if so, do a grep through all of the PL/SQL source code on disk and see if you can find any reference to it to get an idea about what it is used for.

cheers

Pete
