Title: Oracle Linux/Virtualization Software
Post by Pete Finnigan on Nov 28th, 2007, 3:58pm
Hey Guys, I was wondering, if any of you are using or planning on using Oracle Linux, and how would you compare it to other distros.  Also, wondering, if any of you are using any Virtualization Software and what do you think of Oracle VM - Thanks

Hi John,
My experiences with VMs on Unbreakable linux have been mixed in that VMWare does not run on UL5 due to XEN being built into the kernel.http://www.xen.org/
I also found that UL5 did not work as a VMWare guest. It seems to me that XEN is the way forward for hypervisors though DIY using UML is cool too http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/
Would be good to hear how folks rate the Oracle solution?
Cheers,
Paul
