Application centric security

I saw this evening that Anthony has a nice post on his blog about application centric security. The post is titled "An Application-Centric Approach to Security or Security as a Service". The issues with moving security "up a layer" so to speak mean that it gets distributed and potentially easier to abuse but this is the future, service oriented architectures or so we are led to beleive.
